In Sombreros, Eduardo Úrculo resorts to one of the recurring images of his figurative universe: the human figure characterised by the hat and the costume. Two characters are represented in profile, defined by a synthesis of lines, planes and chromatic contrasts.
The composition reduces individual features and concentrates attention on silhouette, clothing and gesture. The use of a contained range of greys, black and yellow, together with the precision of the drawing, contributes to an image of a markedly graphic character, characteristic of the work on Urculus paper.
